For Airbus AS350 / H125 operators

Single-pilot IFR confidence — now standard on the AS350.

The Thales / StandardAero StableLight 4-axis autopilot transforms your AS350 / H125 into a stable, IFR-capable platform — engineered for HEMS, law enforcement, utility, corporate and business operators, and tour fleets flying the unforgiving night and inadvertent-IMC envelope. FAA STC approved. Sold and installed at Precision Aircraft Services (Peachtree City, Georgia) — an authorized dealer and installation facility for the StableLight system.

Why StableLight

The autopilot the AS350 should have shipped with.

Built specifically for the AS350 / H125 by Thales — drawing on the flight-control heritage Thales developed for Airbus' transport-category rotorcraft, miniaturized and adapted for a light single. Sold and installed by Precision Aircraft Services, an authorized dealer and installation facility.

Safety that meets the regulators where they're going.

Single-pilot night and inadvertent-IMC operations are the highest-risk regime in the rotorcraft industry. StableLight directly addresses what FAA HEMS rules and the NTSB safety record have been pushing toward: redundant stabilization that keeps the aircraft flying when situational awareness fails.

  • Stability augmentation, attitude retention, auto-trim
  • Stabilized-climb flight-attitude recovery mode
  • Auto pull-up tied to terrain awareness (TAWS)
  • Coupled go-around mode

Open up the missions your pilots couldn't fly before.

Auto-hover for hoist, longline, and night NVG ops. Lighter pilot workload for HEMS, law-enforcement surveillance and pursuit, and corporate and business owner-flown missions where a stabilized hands-off platform meaningfully expands what your pilots can take on.

  • Auto-hover with precision station-keeping
  • Transparent hands-on-cyclic flight
  • Coupled flight modes including go-around
  • Compatible with NVG and external mission equipment

Underwriting advantages and a real ROI story.

An AS350/H125 with StableLight commands a meaningful premium on the resale market, opens up routes and missions previously out of reach for the platform, and gives your pilot warranty and underwriting conversations real substance. The retrofit pays back faster than most operators expect.

  • Resale premium vs. unequipped AS350s
  • Stronger position on underwriting and pilot warranty terms
  • Mission expansion: more billable flight regimes per aircraft
  • Financing available through PAG partners
Fit & specs

Engineered for your fleet — not adapted to it.

StableLight is purpose-built for the AS350 / H125 family. It's not a kit-bashed retrofit — it's a clean-sheet system, drawing on Thales' flight-control heritage from larger Airbus civil rotorcraft and adapted for a light single. Sold and installed at Precision Aircraft Services, an authorized dealer and installation facility.

  • FAA-approved STC for the AS350 B2 / B3 / B3e (H125)
  • SMART linear actuators eliminate heavy flight-control computers
  • 4 proven trim actuators with redundant failure paths
  • Compatible with modern Garmin certified rotorcraft stacks
  • Stabilized-climb attitude recovery and TAWS-coupled auto pull-up
  • Architecture designed to accommodate future Garmin and Thales avionics integrations

How it works

Inside the StableLight system.

Thales' breakthrough in compact-actuator design is what makes 4-axis autopilot finally practical on a light helicopter. The integrated actuators carry their own electronics — eliminating heavy flight-control computers and bringing transport-category capability to a single-engine platform.

FAQ

Questions we hear most.

Don't see yours? Drop it in the form below and we'll come back with a real answer — not a brochure.

Will this fit my specific tail number?

If you fly an AS350 B2, B3, or B3e (H125), the answer is almost certainly yes — the FAA STC covers the family. The few exceptions tend to involve unusual mission-equipment interference. Send us your N-number and we'll confirm in 24 hours.

Does the STC cover the EC130 / H130?

Not yet. The current FAA STC covers the AS350 / H125 family. EC130 (B4 and T2) certification is on the Thales / StandardAero roadmap. If you operate EC130s and want to be notified when EC130 certification is announced, fill out the form and we'll add you to the early-access list.

How long does the installation take?

Typical downtime at the PAS Part 145 facility is roughly two to three weeks from arrival to release-to-service, including the post-install flight-test card. We schedule installs to align with calendar inspections wherever possible to minimize total time off-line.

What does it cost?

Pricing varies meaningfully by avionics stack and airframe configuration. We don't post a sticker price because the honest answer depends on what's already installed. Submit your tail number and we'll send a written quote, usually within two business days.

Does it work with my Garmin GTN / G500 / GFC?

Yes — StableLight integrates cleanly with the modern Garmin certified rotorcraft stack. We've also evaluated alternative installations on a case-by-case basis. Tell us your existing panel in the notes field and we'll confirm compatibility before quoting.

How does this affect underwriting and resale?

StableLight gives operators a stronger position when discussing pilot warranty terms, mission profile, and risk with their underwriter — particularly for HEMS, law enforcement, and corporate operations. We don't quote specific premium reductions; that's a conversation between you and your broker. On the resale side, AS350s with a 4-axis autopilot retrofit trade at a premium versus unequipped airframes.

What about pilot training?

Initial differences training is included with the install package. Most pilots transition comfortably in a single flight session. Recurrent and instructor-rated programs are available through our training network.

Can I finance the upgrade?

Yes — Precision Aviation Group has long-standing relationships with multiple aviation finance partners offering retrofit-specific financing. We can structure terms to align with your existing aircraft note.
